Movie Reviews

LOVED the Marvin Gaye documentary

"I love this documentary. This 2-DVD set comes with the "What's Going On" documentary and the full 1976 Marvin Gaye concert. Both are wonderful but the documentary alone was worth the buy. My only gripe is that the concert DVD did not include the songs "Mercy Mercy Me" and "I Want You." Additionally, I think he's at his best when he's at the piano. It would have been nice to see Marvin at the piano during this concert. He is so subtle, yet powerful when he's singing and playing the piano. The documentary is so nostalgic; you hear Marvin's voice speaking of his thoughts throughout the whole documentary. There are interviews with his two ex wives, his sister, sister-in-law, and various Motown musicians and singers, and even from Berry Gordy. Just get this DVD."

"This is a great concert Dvd of Marvin, at his peak in the late seventies in concert. I wanted a rare copy of "stubborn kinda fellow" for my Apple Tv, but ended up watching and transfering all the concert to my Apple. It's definitely worth the $ if you like Marvin Gaye, or even if your not a fan, you will be."
