True confession time...I found this story very hard to watch because I went through this. Pregnant at 16, I had no choice at the time but to give up my son for adoption. We are talking back in the early 60s and there was no such thing as single mothers, no daycare for kids...as a matter of fact, they kicked me out of school because I was a bad example for the other girls in school.
Anyway, this movie handled the subject wonderfully and with dignity.

i got this movie , because i happen to like judi dench .... it is a good true story . maybe a bit slow at times , but a good story . the subject matter is one of those "not often talked about " ones ....but well treated . it is also a story of much hurt and no repentance or acknowledgement of wrong by those who perpetrated the hurt in the first place [ in their eyes they did good and right ] . a sad story and much could have been done , had some people not been such *#(@**@#@ ..... a true story and a sad story ... well worth watching !!! .... i hope others , who went through the same experience had better closure ...
