This movie is very good. I love movies about exceptional people and this is one exceptional young man. The part I didn't like was that the credits rolled on forever with the pix of the real guy. Can't say more or will spoil. I've watched it 3 times. Enjoy.

I was expecting a silly movie, but it was a lot better than that. Highly entertaining, a great movie to watch for a date night.

I love this story, and this movie is very well done. It's one that you think about for a long time afterwards, and want to watch again. And share with your children.

This movie was so bad that I threw it away. The scenery and acting was good, but the storyline, which started well, got worse and worse. I got all involved with the characters and just when you start to care about them, somebody dies. Then another, and another... it was just the worst depressing movie I have EVER seen. Why waste someone else's time just to get a credit? Nope, that copy is in the landfill.

This movie is very enjoyable if you are already a fan of the book series. If you have no clue what the story is about before trying to watch the movie, it will probably move along too fast for clarity. I loved it.

This is a well-acted thought-provoking movie. The ending had one unbelievable detail, but overall it is worth watching more than once.

Excellent! Very engrossing. My only complaint is there are no closed captions, so when someone was turned away, it was difficult to know what they were saying. Other than that, I was able to follow the storyline for the most part. This was a lot more interesting than what I learned in grade school.

I thoroughly enjoyed this. The story is well written and compelling, you care about the characters, there is humor and pathos. There is also some almost unbearable torture but it's not drawn out and it's necessary to the plot. Lots of action, really good story. There is one thing not mentioned anywhere on the box or the 4 discs: this is NOT the complete story. I found the sequel on Netflix, a movie called "Serenity" which answers some questions from the previous episodes. Then the series was cancelled, no more after that but it sure leaves you wanting more. I do recommend this as a great sci-fi adventure.

This is a very enjoyable movie. The story has funny twists and startling surprises without being gross. Being an artist, the 80's graphics are quite cool in my mind. It's worth watching several times, which is why I am keeping it for now. {Actors with "names" don't hurt either.}

I have watched this movie twice. It's outrageous and enthralling, very well written and acted. I thought it was a true story, but is BASED on a real person. I am white, and this movie made me understand more of the black viewpoint. Everyone just wants to live in peace and happiness, but evil will always mess that up. I recommend this movie.

This is an interesting movie and if you read the other reviews, I agree that yes, it's very cleverly written and very well acted. However, if you're looking for action, adventure, and romance, it's a yawner. I tried my best to watch it twice and fell asleep both times. If you want to listen to a dysfunctional royal family snarking at each other inside a dreary medieval castle, that's mainly what it is. Sorry, I couldn't make it to the end.

I just want to point out that his "over the top" antics is because the mask simply makes whoever wears it behave like a cartoon character. When I understood that, the movie was even funnier.

This movie seemed hard to relate to at first but as it went on I really enjoyed it. You have to really pay attention to the dialogue unlike a lot of modern stories. There is a lot going on and I actually watched about half of it and then stopped because my hubby wasn't too interested. A few evenings later, we started it over and the repetition of the first part helped us get into it better. Days later, I was still thinking about this story and I do recommend it. I plan to keep this movie for awhile and watch it again.

After I wrote this, I scrolled down to read the other reviews. While I appreciate the one comparing this film to the original novel, that review would spoil the movie for someone who hasn't watched it yet. Also, I felt the movie was a good "stand alone" story and I don't really care if it was originally some other story. Who the characters are in the movie are who they are in the movie, and the comparison to the people in the original novel just really doesn't matter to me, the average viewer. There are far too many movies out nowadays with mean horrible people. This was good entertainment and fairly wholesome, a peak into another time and place.
