7 Seconds (2005)
Actors: Wesley Snipes, Tamzin Outhwaite, Deobia Oparei
Release Year: 2005

Wesley Snipes has a lot of good movies under his belt: Murder at 1600, US Marshals, Major League, Rising Sun… but the movie 7 Seconds is poorly written and directed and doesn’t hold together. There are some very good individual scenes and acting in the movie, but there is only so much an actor can do. No real character development, story fuzzy and thin, and just a poorly directed written and produced movie. Watch it once, shake your head and wonder why the makers of this movie didn’t do a lot better job, list it on SwapA DVD.

To the review that said: "Robbed my time". I will have to quote a line form a truly great Whoopi Goldberg movie "Ghost" and say "Ditto". Whoopi did her best to carry the movie, but the writing and direction were pretty bad so it was a big waste of time for me, and the question - "Why did they even make this movie?"

I read a review by someone who said this must have been over his head. I agree. How this movie could have possibly won 6 Academy Awards including Best Picture is totally beyond me. Catherine Zeta, and Renee are stunning – what a waste of their talent. The movie itself is exceptionally well done technically, but it is written totally sleazy.

Some movies have a great story and are badly made, some are made extremely well with a lousy story, I don’t know which is worse. This one falls into the category of the latter.

This is Classic James Bond at his best! Great cast, very enjoyable action movie I can watch over and over again. For the 1960s this movie was WAY ahead of it's time.

My favorite baseball movie!

If you don't really like baseball you might, after watching this movie and sitting with Kevin Costner as Billy Chapel in the dugout, and being with him on the mound for 9 wonderful innings.

He has given his all to baseball and learns there are other things in life to go all out for, like love and commitment.

Vin Scully the legend appears as himself and sprinkles this move with broadcast magic like only he can do.

Baseball fans and romantics will smile, get chills of delight, and well up with emotion as this game plays on.

The ending will make you want to cheer - and know that life, even with all it's pitfalls is very worthwhile and is what you make it.

A good action revenge movie with some nice twists, good plot, and a great surprise ending! I have always liked John Travolta movies and he still has his stuff! Christopher Meloni has good chemistry with John and adds to the mix nicely. The bad guys are "good" too - really 'good' bad guys, You won't be disappointed, buckle up, and give it a watch!

Painful to watch. I kept watching hoping it would get better but it did not. Not funny, no plot, and a big question - why did they even make this movie?

If you like end of the world stuff you probably will like this movie. The special effects were very well done but a bit "too real" for me.
I personally believe that each person, and we as a society together, determine our own destiny, so for me there was a major basic flaw in the whole premise of the movie. However if you believe otherwise - that things are “pre-determined” then that won’t be a problem.

Having said that, Nicholas Cage does an excellent job as he always does and puts his heart and soul into the part. Very well directed and produced, and the emotional impact is definitely there in many scenes.

To say anything else about what happens would just spoil it for someone who hasn’t seen it. The DVD case and movie trailers do a fine job of that.

I saw this in the video store and decided to take a chance. I loved National Treasure 1 and 2 and was hoping this one would possibly be similar – but rest assured it is NOT!
Even though I disagreed on the whole premise that the move was based on, I still enjoyed the quality of all the various elements of the movie – acting, directing, camera work, production, and special effects. However one viewing of this film is plenty for me and so this one will go “on the block” and won’t occupy the space in my movie collection between “K*19” and “Ladder 49”

When you really look at it, a movie review is just some ones opinion – well there is mine.

Original article
I just saw Million Dollar Baby and my apologies for probably being the last one on the planet to do so. It was a fantastic movie except for the ending! Yes, those things happen in real life, but Maggie is too resilient and too full of life to not be able to fight through it and recover.
I like happy endings, so I think Clint and the cast should get back together again and film a new ending for the movie – Maggie fights back, recovers, gets a re-match, and knocks out the former champ and truly becomes a Million Dollar Baby!
I was so disappointed at the ending of the movie I was going to get rid of it and never watch it again, but the acting was so good, and the movie so well done, and Hilary Swank was such an inspiration that I had to figure out a compromise. I love to watch great movies over and over again so decided I would watch this one right up to the point of the championship fight, and then turn it off and make my own ending.
Maggie, you are magnificent and fight back with every ounce of courage from the very depths of your soul, you need to work twice as hard as you ever did to make a recovery, and Dunn is torn about putting you back in the ring again and the scene builds to an emotional crescendo – then Scrap comes in and says his brilliant lines about it being better to try, than not to try at all.
The fight goes the full length, and everyone is sitting on the edge of their seats cheering with clenched fists for Maggie, a rollercoaster ride to the finish when Maggie lands the final blow - and after a 10 count that lasts nearly forever, with flashbacks of her trials and tribulations, in a final moment of glory becomes the new champion – and an inspiration and champion in all of our hearts.
Well I’m probably just being unrealistic or idealistic, or silly, but I really think they should re-do the ending, but if they don’t - I have.
So I’m keeping Million Dollar Baby in my permanent movie collection with my addendum!

Great action packed Spy Thriller! If you like spy movies this is for you.

Pierce Brosnan gets better with age, and really shines in this world of international espionage. As a lethal and highly trained ex-CIA agent he comes out of retirement to safeguard a beautiful witness with a secret that can tip the scales of International Power.

Fasten your seat belt and get ready for an incredible ride.

If you liked Pierce Brosnan as James Bond you will love him as The November Man!

Who wants to watch a movie popularizing a guy who robbed banks, no matter how he robbed them. When someone robs a bank, it costs us all money if only because of the inflation factor of more money in circulation that wasn't worked and exchanged for.
To enjoy the movie or watch it you have to twist your wits and somehow agree that robbing banks is OK, or clever, or somehow acceptable or ethical.
What? What a strain it is to do that.
I sure wouldn't want someone to rob me or my bank, no matter how cute he does it.
Well, there is my 2 cents worth.
Robert and Sissy are great actors of course, but who wants them popularizing some shmuck who goes around and steels our money.

This is a thoroughly delightful trip down memory lane for anyone who was in a garage band or anyone who knew anyone who was in a garage band. Tom Hanks captures the magic of it all and lights up the screen with images that reflect that wonderful era of vintage rock and roll. The original music reverberates through the air with a sound that will have you swaying in your seat, and dreamy Liv Tyler shows all the guys ‘what they are playing for’. One of those movies you can enjoy over and over again.

Horrible writing and dialog. There is one good plot twist at the end of the movie but you need to suffer through the whole movie to get there. Maybe I'm just old or old fashioned but do people really converse like that? I don’t get it.
This could have been a good movie but you would need to totally rewrite the script. I’ll stop here and close by saying Sandra Bullock shines as she always does, and the elements of the movie like scenery were very beautiful. It was mostly the very poorly written script that sinks this movie.

If you liked the grisly aspects of Silence Of The Lambs, Face Off, and similar movies, and enjoy Internet drama, you will probably like this movie.

Diane Lane is excellent as usual, and all other aspects of the movie – acting, directing, set design, camera, etc. are top notch. It was just too gruesome for me. OK to see once, but not one of those movies I would watch over and over.

Enemy of The State, Sneakers, and similar movies, I do watch over and over. The main difference is the gore.

I’m a happy ending person, and I like movies that give good examples and inspiration for people to follow for living and in their own lives. This movie begs the question: “By making movies like these, are we giving people bad ideas, or promoting some creeps creepy dramatization”? Yes this stuff probable does happen in isolated instances, or maybe not so isolated, but why promote it?

What you put your attention on you get – so who wants this?

To a certain degree movies and TV shape our society and the way people think and feel. Agree or disagree I think if this kind of stuff, and other undesirable stuff wasn’t promoted on TV and in the Movies, there would be less of it happening in life. I may be wrong on this but I don’t think so, and If my observation is accurate, then those who make movies carry the responsibility whether they want it or not.
