UPC 809571000224 - George Lucas in Love - The MediaTrip Collector Series (Widescreen)

This is a widely known title; I'm surprised it's not in the database.  Short, hilarious parody of Shakespeare in Love and Star Wars.  Everything about this little film is highly acclaimed.  Includes behind-the-scenes, optional audio commentary and pop-up text trivia.

Also included are Evil Hill (Notting Hill meets Austin Powers' Dr. Evil), Film Club (Fight Club parody), and Swing Blade (combines Sling Blade and Swingers). All have lots of laughs, but Evil Hill is particularly well done.

Color, runtime 46 min, 2000 release. 1 disc = 1 credit.  Be the first to PM me.

ETA: Taken 1/29! Thanks for looking.

The genres are a little weird here...a lot of the fantasy I like is also animation or comedy.

Brotherhood of the Wolf was good, and Hero, and Pan's Labyrinth.  Breathtaking.  But I can't watch those over and over again...

My favorite is a Hong Kong romantic comedy called La Brassiere.  Very silly!

ETA: Does anime count?  I don't see a separate forum.  I can watch Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke over and over again!

Wendy, you are half-right...after putting the Rocky franchise to bed, Stallone has filmed a 4th Rambo movie.

I will watch anything with Van Damme in it, and really liked Cyborg, Universal Soldier and The Quest.  His recent movies are pretty intense.

Some of my all-time faves are Mortal Kombat, Fatal Beauty, and Hero (Jet Li). Occasionally I've struck bargain bin gold: The Taking of Beverly Hills, Hercules movies from the '60s.

ETA: ...and a little budget flick called Expect to Die!

Someone mentioned Session 9...that one did get very eerie but I was a little disappointed at the end...or just in shock :)

I agree, The Ring was very scary in that it was creepy.  There weren't a lot of "jump" moments, but it just got weirder and weirder.  I've only seen the American one...it's a bit slow, but my friend & I kept saying "OMG! WTF?! OMG! WTF?!" and were both afraid to sleep.  When we hung out exactly 7 days later we were very nervous.

Fan yes, seen latest season no.  I like how 4400 advances the big storyline in each episode, but I also like when they do a "freak of the week" and wrap something up.

Also curious: I heard SciFi Channel remastered the Original Series, much like Lucas did the Star Wars special editions & DVD release.  Does anyone know if this version of TOS is coming to DVD?

recent? Definitely, The Last Mimzy.  I read the original story years ago and they turned a germ of an idea into an amazing adventure.  It looks like a kids movie but small kids might be scared or not able to keep up.
