Help Center - How do I choose a SwapaDVD nickname/make a public profile?

To choose your SwapaDVD Nickname, you need to make a SwapaDVD Profile.    Profiles may be as detailed or as simple as you like.  You can include icons or pictures, links to personal websites, biographical information, lists of DVDs you are watching or recommend to others, DVDs you are looking for/collecting, etc.  The only constraints are that advertisements, commercial solicitations, links to other swapping sites, material of an obscene or pornographic nature, and negative comments about SwapaDVD or other SwapaDVD members are not permitted.  

There are links to your Tower, Wish List, DVD Reviews/Ratings and transactions statistics in your SwapaDVD profile (these can be "hidden" if you wish).

Why have a Profile?

• Only members who have Profiles will appear in the Member Directory (you can choose to be unlisted if you like). 

• Members with Profiles receive more equests to their Towers than members who do not make public profiles!
  • Being searchable from the Member Directory makes it easier for other members to find you--and see your Tower.

To Set Up/Edit Your Profile:

• Go to your Account Settings:

  • From My Account: click the Settings tab
  • From anywhere on the site: place your cursor over My Account and choose Settings from the menu that drops down.
• Scroll down to see the Profile Settings (or click the link at the top of the Settings page)
  • Make your changes and click when you are done.
  • Your SwapaDVD Nickname cannot be changed after it is chosen, so be sure you are happy with your choice!
  • Your Profile avatar will be your Discussion Forum avatar as well.

To View Your Public Profile:

• Click on My Account, on the upper right.
