Movie ReviewsTwo versions of Alice, not a set Pardus Amicus | Lake Superior, USA | 11/26/2004 (3 out of 5 stars) "This is two DVDs but they are separate versions by different studios, not a follow on to one another.
Includes; Alice in Wonderland (ASIN: B00006RCMF) ------------------- Non-Disney version; Similar, but more kid focused than the Disney version. And a bit closer to the actual book. The Caucus race song drags on far too long however but my niece is usually glued to the screen during the Mad Hatter's coloring song. This was done in an Asian lab and has the distinctive animation similar to Heathcliff and other afternoon cartoons. Alice - Through the Looking Glass (ASIN: B00022LILQ) --------------------------------- Saturday Morning Fare; A somewhat rushed feeling, animated romp through various settings called 'squares' so Alice can reach the Red Queen's castle, square 8, and become a queen herself. Other than that not much any of the film has a lot of meaning or interest. Despite the popular actors of the time used as voices there is little tying it into Carrol's poems other than the characters' names." |
