This is one of the best ideas for a DVD Double Feature. Including both versions of a film together is genius.

The Amityville Horror is one of the Occult classics of Modern Horror (1968 to Present). It's influenced quite a few films over the years and remains an effective horror film. The remake does a decent job as a horror film and is far more entertaining.
