This is an interesting look at the subject of reincarnation. Takes a look at different religions and their views on it. Very interesting part about how the Dali Lama was chosen. pretty interesting.

A good introduction for the general public.....
Patrick D. Goonan | Pleasanton, CA | 05/13/2007
(3 out of 5 stars)

"This is an entertaining film for the general public that contains some basic information on reincarnation including how the Dalai Lama is chosen, some examples from the bible that are possible references to reincarnation and a summary of one past life regression through hypnosis.

The photography and organization of the DVD is good. For many people, it will be a surprise to learn that both Judaism and Christianity espoused a belief in reincarnation. The film does a good job of surveying various angles on the topic in about an hour.

There are several prominent authors who write about reincarnation who were asked some questions and a brief history of Madame Blavatsky who precipitated an a renewed interest in reincarnation in the West was given.

Overall, this is a rather superficial treatment of this complex topic and I was particulary disappointed that it didn't go into more detail about the upper echelons of various traditions beiefs about this topic. What was held out as a prime example was popular Hinduism. I think this represents a mythic interpretation of something much more profound. I also think there could have been and should have been more scholarly commentary about the particulars taken from various wisdom traditions.

On the other hand, this was only a one hour film and it did raise some provocative questions. However, if you are well read on this topic, you may not find this a particulary interesting film. If you know nothing about the topic, I'm sure you will find it interesting and it will perhaps spark further inquiry."
Good, broad view of reincarnation

"This is an excellent prsentation with wide-ranging information.
There is also an outline as to how the modern spiritualist movement started and details of how the dalai lama is replaced, telling how the leaders in the buddhist religion go about finding the reincarnation of the former dalai lama on earth.
Fascinating stuff, recommended."
