Movie Reviews

You really got to listen to this band!!!!

"Everything this band does is brilliant. This concert set has been on my DVD player for a year or so and I can never seem to get tired of it. Amazing musicians, great songwriters and 7 extremely talented musicians. This is what rock is all about. They are not progressive in the Yes King Crimson sense, but are truly progressive musically in the classic rock tradition of Floyd and Gabriel Genesis, but with a fresh new sound that is totally addicting."
Great stuff!

"I found this 6 piece (4 men / 2 woman) rock group by accident. Boy am I glad I did! This is an excellent band. The music has nicely woven arrangements, great melody and good solid players with excellent vocals. This is not another wound up, speed crazy band or a bunch of angry people screaming their heads off and slamming the same chords over and over again. It's got an uplifting feel and real atmosphere. More on the cosmic side of things. Very poetic lyrics and spiritual style with new age and Pink Floyd like overtones, but not a P. F. rip off at all. The DVD does a good job at conveying much of the band's natural energy flow. The audio and video quality is real good. The camera work is not to busy to become annoying like many live concert videos do. It would not fit this band. After I watched this concert I felt real good, almost refreshed. Excellent live band and great music! Many of my friends have watched this DVD and become instant fans as I have. We have all watched it more than once as well."
More Great Music from a Great Band

"Let me clear this up from the start. I am a big fan of Mostly Autumn, and just love all their music. Secondly, I am reveiwing the copy of the V.Shows I have, which is a limited edition double DVD with a booklet.
So for me 5 stars is not enough. I have noticed that most people come across this band by accident, which is a shame, because I believe that they should be "discovered" by now in the USA. I have reveiwed other MA DVD's and a few people have obvioulsy read the reviews, but I don't know if they have purchased any MA. It would be great to see more reviews on this band.
I decided to review this DVD for three reasons.
One, I have it playing while I am writing this, and still can not believe how good this band is. Their music is something special. It just works. Most songs start out melodic and build to great rock numbers. Bryan Josh is an awesome guitarist, Heather Finaly (along with Bryan Josh) enhances the songs with their haunting vocals, and the rest of the band just pull it all together.
Two, I read the previous reviewers review, and again they said they found this band by accident, and what a great find for them. Also, they have let other people listen to this DVD and they love it also. If you like rock music, then it seems to my biased opinion that it is a gimmie that they will like it. It is great to see other people reviewing their music and saying how good it is - Thank you. Maybe the word will get out, and MA will make it big here.
Three to talk about this great DVD. I assume that the regular release (as I stated I have a special limited edition version which is two discs and a book - which I pre-ordered from Classic Rock Productions in England)
THe first disc features a complete suite of their newer album Passengers. What more can I say. Just a fantastic disc, and for me some new sounds, as I have to admit being such a big fan I have about every DVD by MA, and there is some repetition of songs - but heck, I don't really care as I could hear them over and over anyway. THe second DVD features more of their back catalogue songs (hence having some songs on other DVD's) IF, though, you have not heard any MA before, this DVD (assuming it is a regular double DVD - I have not queit worked that out yet, if my edition is a special 2 disc or they are all 2 discs releases without the book - anyway it is worth it for just one disc, but if it is two then you are in for a double treat) is a must. It features some of their (surely, soon to be classics) such as Evergreen, Mother Nature, and Heroes never die. These songs are unbelievable great. Again most of the songs start out slowly and build into some great rock and roll, with some heady rock guitar solos by Bryan Josh.
As I said, I am totally biased when it comes to MA - I have a fairly extensive DVD and CD collection, and it is not long before MA goes on again. I was sort of scared that I may grow a bit bored of the band by over playing them, but this has not happened, in fact it appears that I appreciate them more with each playing.
If you want something different, something that you will play over and over again, then buy some Mostly Autumn. Then write a reveiw I would love to see what other people think.

Finally, I don't know if it is available yet on Amazon - I am sure it is, but there is also a Mostly Autumn DVD where they play some Pink Floyd songs. This is also a double DVD, with a complitation of hits on the second disc. If you like Pink Floyd and want to know IF this band can play - then listen to this DVD."
