Movie Reviews

My child loves this video!
B. .Anders | Raleigh,NC | 01/30/2007

"I have a son with special needs . He is also nonverbal.I
bought the video, so I could learn some basic signs to work on with him.
Our speech therapist warned us he would not be able to learn
signing on his own, by watching the video.
Soon after getting this video, I walked into the livingroom to find him watching it and signing, baby, help, cookie and other signs as they were being done. (You can only imagine how proud I was of him.)He was doing this on his own. His signs are not perfect, but close enough that we know what he means.
He loves to watch the children on this video. It keeps him engaged.
He also wants to watch it over and over again.
The video may not be perfect, but it definitely has its benifits.
Best of all, my son loves it!!"
The favorite DVD in my son's video collection

"My son is a premmie with special needs. His OT and speach therapist were worried about his language skill since he was one year old. When my son was 2 and a half years old, we bought "Talking Hands" on the way to a vacation in Lake Tahoe for him to watch in the van. By the time when we were returning home, we noticed he was mading signs with his little chubby hands. He never gets tired of watching this DVD and has learned every word and the associated signs by heart. In the year past, his language skill improved so much that we are not worried about his verbal abilities any more and we credit "Talking Hands" not only for teaching him words but also for improving his fine motor skills as he learned to use his hands and fingers for the signs."
Great DVD

"I have 3 boys age 8, 7, and 6 the youngest has Autism. This DVD interested everyone in the family including my husband. This is a DVD that we watch as a family as we learn the signs together."
Not helpful for kids with autism.

"I purchased this for my son with autism. It did not engage him at all. He has learned all the signs from Baby Einstein. Would probably work with average child."
