Beautiful Meditations to calm your mind and revitilize your
YogaKat | Oregon United States | 12/23/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This DVD includes 5 beautiful meditations.

One: Simple Breath (3:25 min.) Teaches you how to breath correctly.

Two: Beauty of the Heart (3:48 min) Teaches you how to reduce stress while traveling.

Three: Sensual Relaxation (11:22 min) How to Relax you whole body.

Four: Nurturing Energy (9:35 min) How to eliminate negative thoughts.

Five: Revitalizing your Spirit (11:51 min) Brings you to serenity.

The first two are mainly instructional, while the remaining three walk you through a meditation session. In Sensual Relaxation Barbara walks you through a series of tensing and relaxing each body part. My favorite, Revitilizing your Spirit is a beautiful meditation where Barbara walks you through the visualization of white light coming in the top of your head and working through your body.

Also, You get a bonus session at the end with a performance of Amaxing Grace by Walela (4:04 min). You can only get to this track by listening to the whole DVD and/or skipping the chapters. It is not included in the screen menu.

If your eyes are open during the meditations, the nature scenes are beautiful (and filmed in high definition). Barbara Biziou is an internationally acclaimed teacher of medititation, a life-strategy coach, and a frequent televisioon and radio guest. Her voice is very soothing and the meditations can be used over and over again. You can either do each one in succession or individually if you're short on time.

I would highly recommend it and Amazon has got a great price on the DVD. Please see my other reviews on Meditation and Yoga DVDs."
5 Meditations for Complete Relaxation
Rebecca Johnson | Washington State | 02/08/2006

"Bringing yourself back into balance after a stressful day or a stressful week often requires more than 15 minutes and with a 45-minute escape, you can tune out the world and enter a paradise of cherry lily blossoms floating in ponds, fantasy waterfalls and towering trees.

Barbara Biziou teaches the techniques necessary for entering a calm, centered state far from worry loops and noisy distractions. The five meditations can be used as short meditation sessions or you can just play the entire DVD for a deeply relaxing experience.

I found that you don't have to sit through each session. You could be on your back, sit cross-legged or sit in a chair. There were some moments when it felt natural to stretch and others where I just wanted to fall asleep. To add a sense of comfort, fold a comforter in half and sit with it wrapped around your legs. I found this keeps me warm in the winter and meditation then becomes even more nourishing. You can keep your eyes closed or watch the sparkling waters and garden settings.

Perfect to take along when traveling or to keep as a meditation escape. This DVD can also be used to learn meditation techniques (Beauty of the Heart Relaxation) needed to get through the challenges on the Journey to Wild Divine computer game.

I think meditation is the place where your joy is hiding. I find mine again almost every time I meditate and Barbara Biziou's "guided" Momentary Meditations are especially healing and leave me happy and comforted. If you play this after exercising, you can go even deeper into relaxation. It is as if you need to get rid of the extra energy and then your body is ready to relax more fully. Yoga or bellydance or any form of exercise like pilates or walking will also work before playing this program.

Meditation

(5 out of 5 stars)

"I just bought this DVD last week and found it to be an effective meditation tool. Meditation is great way to get into mindfulness (or in another words be fully in the moment). The scenery on this DVD is beautiful and calming. Meditation gets you to slow down your thoughts and really teaches your mind what you choose to focus on in a positive light. Our thoughts can affect our world in a beneficial manner.

Peace and Happiness,

Patrick Leonardi"
