Worth getting for College Kickboxers, a great B martial arts

(4 out of 5 stars)

"This is not your average B-movie. It is fun and has good fight scenes, thanks to Dang Tak Wing. A college student meets a Chinese cook (Tak Wing) and wants to learn kung fu from him. After begging for several days, he finally gets his wish. The training is tough, but he stays with it and defeats some bad guys in a tournament at the end.

The action is surprisingly good. Dang Tak Wing is a a little pudgy looking, but his kung fu skills are no joke. As far as I know, this is the only movie he ever acted in (other than some movie called Lost Souls made n 1980). He did the action for Angels 3 and Zen of Sword, and he was one of the many highly respected choreographers who worked on Jackie Chan's Drunken Master 2. The movie is not all action, but there's plenty of it. The lead actor looks like a California beach boy, but his kicking skills are quite nice.

If you are a B movie fan, this is a must see. If Dang Tak Wing wasn't in this, it would be a complete waste of time.

Rating- 3.5/5

Picture quality is good and it's full screen.

The only other movie I watched in this 10-pack was Stingray. It stars out fun, but then gets kind of pointless. Some bad guys are chasing a Corvette, and the 2 guys in the Corvette spend the entire movie running away. It gets old really fast. The one thing that kept me watching was the cold blooded female character. I had to keep watching to see what she was going to do next. I would give this movie a rating of 2.5/5.
