Fantastic Dutch Television from the 60s

"This DVD suffers one problem: regional coding. However, it will play in your computer's DVD player, and it plays on my NTSC (American) TV through a region-free DVD player (which can be picked up for less than $100).
Content-wise, it deserves more than 5 stars. I've never seen anything like this performance. She is amazing, and she'll having you hanging on to every gesture, word, and sound. This Dutch television special from the early 60s has it all-- a great orchestra, guest spot by Caterina's brother Silvio, and Miss Valente, singing in a variety of languages, at her most energetic, dancing, playing the guitar, and doing what she does best-- delivering the songs as nobody else can. Everytime I show this to my friends, they're awestruck... and left wondering... wow, that was a time when music really was happening. No gimmicks, no lip synching, no computerized pitch finding because the singer doesn't know where the pitch is... this is just pure talent and class. This is the most requested DVD in my living room."
