Excellent concert and great music in any language!

"Céline sur les Plaines is a concert to celebrate Quebec's 400th anniversary and it was held at The Plains of Abraham in Quebec City by Celine Dion.

Dion shares the stage with an excellent band and a boatload of guests. I didn't know any of the artists except Garou and Marc Dupre from Dion's previous works.

Other artists include:
Nanette Workmann (Rolling Stone's backup artist and blues singer)
Dan Bigras
Mes Aieux
La Famille Dion (Dion Family)
Zachary Richard
Eric Lapointe
Claude Dubois
Jean-Pierre Ferlant
Ginette Reno

The DVD runs 3 hours and 25 minutes long with bonus features from rehearsal and after the show.

Songs include:

1. Dans un autre monde
2. Destin
3. On ne change pas
4. Sous le vent
5. Seul
6. Si pour te plaire
7. Tout près du bonheur
8. Show
9. Lady Marmelade
10. J'irai où tu iras
11. Tue-moi
12. Ô Fortuna
13. Les trois petits cochons
14. Ton père est un croche
15. Le déni de l'évidence
16.Dégénérations / Le reel du fossé
17. Medley de la Famille Dion (Jos Montferrand, La bastringue, Jack Monoloy, Le reel facile, Dans nos vieilles maisons, Le bal chez Jos Brûlé, À la claire fontaine)
18. La ballade de Jean Batailleur
19. La promesse cassée
20. L'arbre est dans ses feuilles
21. L'amour existe encore
22. Toucher
23. Mon ange
24. La chasse-galerie
25. Si Dieu existe
26. Femme de rêve
27. Et s'il n'en restait qu'une (je serais celle-là)
28. S'il suffisait d'aimer
29. Pour que tu m'aimes encore
30. Une chance qu'on s'a
31. Un peu plus haut, un peu plus loin

The only CON about the DVD is they did not INCLUDE ENGLISH SUBTITLES for people like me who do not speak French, but don't let that detour you from checking out the DVD. The music is 100% live and spans from Rock N' Roll, to a few ballads and blues songs.

A must have for any music and Dion fan!"
Amazing! :)

"Hello! :) This DVD is fantastic! It features a diverse set of music, and has a remarkable "earthiness" to it. After viewing this, one can see the connection between the Cajun (Acadian) and Quebecois cultures and musical genres. It's absolutely charming! It seems that it could be a fun and useful tool to help learn French, if one were already studying it in a more formal setting. I saw an interview (in English) of Celine Dion, and she's from a huge family from a small town/city in Quebec, and she seems like such a sincere, salt-of-the-Earth sweetie, that I couldn't help but adore her. The men featured have deep, sultry voices that seemed to increase my fertility minute by minute (... little joke... or is it?... haha). All in all, an amazing concert that showcases the Quebecois, their culture, and Quebec in general. Highly enjoyable! :)"

"This is one great concert and should be a must for anyone into French Canadian artists. Celine is great and she shares the stage with so many talented artists it's difficult to pick out highlights. Every perfprmance is top notch but especially moving for me was Zachary Richard's gut wrenching rendition of "La Promesse Cassee". Jean Pierre Ferland had the audience cheering like mad and when Ginette Reno appears it's enough to knock your socks off. These performances do not detract from Celine's performances. it is a sign of a great artist that she is willing to share the stage with so many well known performers and not be overshadowed by them or be afraid of anyone stealing the spotlight. The spotlight here is on great performances and everyone delivers their best. As soon as the DVD was over I went back to watch some of them again. A truly great accomplishment."
