Crazy fun especially if you like the board game!

This has been one of my staples and a favorite from childhood. I cannot possibly detail all of the ways in which I love this movie. It is fun, energetic, and the characters are some of the best EVER. The actors all clearly had the time of their lives filming this and hammed it up, and that enthusiasm not only translates to the screen but always infects me with the energy too! We get all the familiar color-themed characters and the weapons are all the familiar ones from the game and they all go through the familiar rooms in the house. It's the game come to life! The plot is set up very well, and even with three different endings you can follow the changes and arrangements. With this DVD you can choose to see only one ending, or you can choose to see all three, which is what I prefer to do. Why not get the whole experience? Lots of humor, and despite the fact that some of the jokes are a little dated they are still funny. And even after seeing this a couple of times a year for over two decades I always find something new to love; a joke I didn't understand before, a detail I might have missed, or a new way to love a character's reaction. Fantastic movie that I will forever recommend to anyone and everyone!

With a cast that includes Tim Curry and Christopher Lloyd you know you are going to be entertained though you really don't know what to expect.

This is a darkly funny little story loosly based on the board game. All of the main characters from Mrs. Scarlett to Prof. Plumb are here, as well as a dark butler named Wadsworth (Tim Curry) who more or less emulates the players in the game during the accusation phase.

This is a really cleaver little film, with some of the funniest (though wrong, very wrong) moments in film ... Re: "I am your singing telegram"

The writting was cleaver and interesting, the performances succeeded in really drawing you into the story, no one stands above the others here; everyone has a good performance and that is a testament to the filmmakers. I really like the fact that there is a minamilist cast, which allows the characters to be developed and the audience to be pulled in. I would recomend this film, though I would recomend a rental on red box, it is probably not something you would want to keep (though I have rented it 5 times myself.)

Wonderfully witty and campy

(5 out of 5 stars)

"I've loved this underrated movie for years and can't believe it took me this long to buy it. For those of you looking for a funny, absurd, and all around entertaining film, "Clue" has your number.

The actors were superbly chosen for their roles, and this is my favorite Tim Curry movie of all time. The dialogue is by turns cheesy, witty, hilarious, and full of puns. The acting alternates between campy, slapstick, straightfaced, and total ham. This is not a frenetic comedy, so the pace is slower than with most contemporary comedies. But that works because the plot is character-based, not action-based. I found it got funnier with each subsequent viewing.

If you're a fan of comedies like "Dr. Strangelove" or "The Big Lebowski" or "Some Like It Hot", then you should really enjoy this film.

But remember, Communism was just a red herring!"
