Wahlberg plays a former smuggler gone legit, but gets pulled back into the fold by his wife's brother mixing up with the old crooks. This movie should be better than it is. Lots of detail around the shipping industry and the mechanics of smuggling, but this attention to detail is thwarted by a number of plot elements that don't click. Wahlberg won't smuggle drugs, but counterfeit money is still within his moral code - I'm not sure that these elements of organized crime are as separated as this film would want us to believe. Then there's the idea that Beckinsale married a guy and had two kids when he clearly ran some seriously heavy criminal activity to get the skills and connections he has. Trying to hide a body in wet cement before checking to see if she has a pulse should be within the purview of any criminal, even a drunk one. Buying expensive waterfront property with untaxed money shortly after an expensive painting was stolen is a sure-fire way to get audited, even if the evidence around one's involvement is circumstantial. Overall, this film does nothing to showcase Wahlberg nor Beckinsale's involvement. A few gun battles and a not very engaging 'heist-scenario'.

You just simply cannot go wrong selecting a Mark Wahlberg movie to watch! He is always right on spot with his characters and this time around he is especially good as the guy who gets pulled back in to the life of crime he left when he became a family man. See Panama from the gritty underside while smuggling fine art and counterfeit money to settle a debt.

A standard Wahlberg flick. He plays the role he usually does. Giovani Ribisi plays a very good role as a bad guy.

Lots of action here and a lot of it is extremely preposterous (meaning the planets must have aligned correctly) for things to turn out the way they do.

Still worth looking at and I will watch it again.
