Movie Reviews

Very Good Irish Bouzouki DvD
Thomas Rivers | Virginia | 07/21/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I enjoyed how he presented the Irish Bouzouki in the old Vince Lombardi format: "This is an Irish Bouzouki" without being insulting to our intelligence, like so many videos.

The lessons are logically layed out, Zan Mcleod introduces each lesson, demonstrates it a enough so you can see what he is doing, then moves on to the next lesson. Someone new to the instrument can work their way through the video, accomplish each lesson - then move on to the next lesson with ease. If you are an intermediate or accomplished player - you can skip around and pick-up some great tips & ideas to incorporate into your own playing.

As "Learn to Play" videos go, this is one of the best."
Decent introduction

"I liked the DVD. I think if you have never played an instrument before it might be really hard to pick up from this. But ive played guitar for 15 years so that made a huge difference. Its good, broken down well and has a nice range of tunes from reels to jigs to standards, etc. Not much of a chance to jam yourself and solo and thats a bit of a bummer. But overall defintely worth the purchase."
Lots of good information

"This is an excellent video! Adequate introductory material is given, but he doesn't waste time with unnecessary "filler". Lots of good information is given and the music is the real thing."
