Movie Reviews

Don't spill the popcorn in daddy's back seat!
Annie Van Auken | Planet Earth | 11/12/2008
(2 out of 5 stars)

"The majority of ST CLAIR's DRIVE-IN CLASSICS are 'Z' grade movies no one paid attention to while on Friday night automobile dates all across America in the 1950s-70s.

SYNOPSES--

BEAST OF YUCCA FLATS-- Silent-style film about a scientist (Ed Wood's own Tor Johnson) who's transformed by radiation into a monster.

BLOODY MURDER-- Killer in a hockey mask targets a group of counselors preparing a summer camp for opening day.

DIE SISTER, DIE!-- Man attempts to convince a hired nurse to help him murder his rotten egg sister.

DRIVE IN MASSACRE-- Rancid, laughable who-dun-it about a weirdo offing kids at the local drive in with his trusty (rusty?) sword. One lowlight is two bloated undercover cops in full drag.

JESSE...DAUGHTER-- Western outlaw hides in castle of crazed scientist's daughter, and she transforms his sidekick into another Igor. Stoopid stuffs!

LEGEND OF BIGFOOT-- Local huckster wants to capture and turn into a sideshow attraction an American yeti that was spotted near a ski resort.

RATTLERS-- No-name cast in nowhere tale of venomous snakes infected by the military with nerve gas.

SHE DEMONS-- Young couple marooned on an island are captured by an ex-Nazi colonel who treats his wife's disfigured face with injections of gland juice harvested from his harem of.... you know......

TRACK OF MOON BEAST-- When a meteorite shard lodges in his sconce, a man mutates into a reptile-like beast.

ST. CLAIR DVD multi-packs are reasonably priced, and offer fine quality video/audio transfers of unrestored public domain material. Discs are single-side recorded, plastic storage cases fairly sturdy, movie liner notes appear on box's back cover and most DVDs include bonus items.

Their BLOODY HORROR COLLECTION might be a good companion to this box set.
