"Don't buy this one , if you own Father of Bluegrass from 1999. This is the same DVD, with a litte diffrent frontcover."
An absolute "must-see" for bluegrass fans and players everyw

"Bill Monroe: Father of Bluegrass Music is the DVD documentary of legendary musician Bill Monroe, credited with creating bluegrass from a fusion of fiddle tunes, Scotch-Irish ballads he learned from his mother and uncle, and "old Southern blues" taught to him by black blues guitarist Arnold Schultz. Bill Monroe: Father of Bluegrass Music pays tribute to this one-of-a-kind composer with interviews, archival footage including rare 1990s performances that Monroe gave in his final years, backstage glimpses of Monroe at the Grand Ole Opry, and much more. An absolute "must-see" for bluegrass fans and players everywhere. 90 minutes."

"I loved Bill Monroe, "Father of Bluegrass", I've watched it many times and don't get tired of it. Having John Hartford and a young Del McCoury on it was a plus! I would recommend it to anyone that enjoys classic bluegrass and Bill Monroe, it keeps him and his wonderful music alive in our hearts. His high lonesome songs to his jigs that make you feel like dancing are entertaining. I regret that I never got to see him perform in person!"
