Movie Reviews

Excellent second season!!
Adorem | 01/31/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This second season is as wonderful as the first season! I just cannot say enough about how excellent and so charming this series is! One of my favorite episodes in this set is titled "Buttons and Beaux" and the focus in this episode is on Lizette, who I always liked.

The only thing about season 2 is, it was a short season with just 13 episodes and, its really sad that they had cancelled the series.

This set consists of 4 discs, with the first 3 discs having 4 episodes each while the 4th disc has just one episode.

I must let you know that the picture quality for season 2 is as super as the first season and, it truly looks as if they were made today, its that good!!

Still love the show....but

"Father Murphy first season was just really great and had somme wonderfull touching moments. The question is "was season 2 as good?"well to say the truth I really dont think so for many reasons.

I was very satisfied with the last episode of season 1 and it would have been perfect if it was the final episode of the show.season 2 is like a scraping of the barrel, the main story of the show is finished,Murphy got married and can finally drop his father Murphy image so whats left?not much thats the problem,so the writer did their best to create interesting story every week but their is no more big storyline or purpose to the show, maybe thats why the show has been canceled on it's second season because the story was just not the same.

Mr Rodman is missing from the season and for me it was like when Ms Olson was missing in the last few episodes of "little house on the prairie".Mr Rodman was a great vilain but a great comic character too,the show wasn't the same without him.

Characters feels out of place this season like Ephran and Will.
In the episode "The reluctant runaway"Ephran is really mean with Will but in season one I had the feeling that Will was like a big brother figure to Ephran and all the Gold hills kids, all the kids were looking up to him it was obvious but in this episodes it feels like Will has only Lizette as a freind.
It's just strange.

And about Will,is voice was breaking the entire season, even if I find that the kid who was playing him was great,it was strange to ear him with his voice breaking all trough the season , I was expecting that at anytime a man's voice would come out of Will's mouth.

Anyway the show is still charming but I wasn't as satisfied with season 2 as I was with the wonderfull, more lenghty and superior first season."
Excellent!

"Season One was excellent to say the least. Very few shows keep me glue from episode to episode but it's worth every penny. Sad that this show didn't take off like the Little House on the Prairie Series."
Costs too much!

"Why must this cost so much? I'd buy it but the price doesn't seem justified."
