Movie Reviews

Mixed Feelings about this Concert
Robin M. Schneider | 01/27/2009
(3 out of 5 stars)

"I had different feelings go through me as I watched this concert. First of all, the cover is very deceiving. It shows a 25-30 something Glen, but as soon as you see Glen trot onstage, you realize that he's in his early 40's. The DVD cover should match what Glen looks like in this concert. Glen still has the strong, marvelous voice, but he jumps around the stage looking a bit like a banshee, and never pickes up a guitar until the seventh song. This was during his "Tanya Tucker" period, and you wonder if he might be on something. I was EXTREMELY impressed with the fiddle and the harmonica players. They were really something. The video is a bit grainy, but easily watchable. Would I watch this again? Probably not. Am I glad I bought it? Yes."
Live from Dublin Nearly Killed Us
Deborah Porter | Sydney, Australia | 11/28/2009
(2 out of 5 stars)

"When we popped the Live from Dublin DVD in to watch we were looking forward to another excellent Glen Campbell concert. Unfortunately, that's not what we got. Both the performance and the quality of the recording were not up to scratch. It was painfully disappointing, to the point where we had to turn it off. As people who really enjoy Glen Campbell's music, the fact that we never made it to the end of this DVD really speaks volumes.

With a number of other excellent, and more recent, Glen Campbell DVD's available, this one is best avoided. It would really only be worth having for the avid fan who wants every recording of everything Glen has made. For everyone else, give it a miss. It's not worth it."
