Really out of the box plotline on this one that heads towards being a cult classic.

I've always found Goldthwait irritating but this searing critique of our mindless culture's insipid superficiality was spot on. The vast majority of viewers will probably find something to offend them, only because they will see themselves as those who are being criticized. Others, however, will identify with Frank (the main character) in his disavowal of all our culture believes fixation-worthy. Frank's reaction is in itself a point of criticism, as is ably displayed by Goldthwait's playing it over-the-top, to the point of making it impossible for the viewer to fully like the character, even if she feels his disgust. Highly recommended for those who want to buck the current system of making even the most talentless miscreant an instant celebrity. 4 stars.
