EXCELLENT GOTH-PUNK COLLECTION !!!!
JUAN MARTIN GABASTOU | Weston Hills, FL United States | 06/23/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Of promo and live clips from the heavier, more obscure early brit goth-punk acts of the `80's. You won't find anything remotely resemblant of dark-pop in the vein of The Mission or Systers of Mercy here, but the rabid, heavy mayhem delivery of bands like Alien Sex Fiend,Virgin Prunes and other less known to the general public. There are also a couple of Nico live songs but what was welcome with curiosity by my eyes and ears was the inclusion of Rubella Ballet and Hagar The Womb, former anarcho-punk bands veered somewhat goth in sound if not in looks, and the gorgeous Beki Bondage fronted Ligotage, totally out of place in this collection but a gift to anyone's eyes and a pleasure to any punk to listen to. Being and old-timer punk, I'm not deeply into goth beyond say the blatantly obvious like Bauhaus and Siouxie, and now I find myself eager to lay hands on some Vprunes and ASFiend DVDs.
The overall picture and sound quality is outstanding on many of the videos, especially considering they are very low budget affairs. The box states only 2 of the more than 20 clips are live but upon watching I realized more than half of it are live or perfectly simulated live ones. The sound is stereo only (no 5.1) if that's of any interest (I don't care a f"&@)
Will satisfy both punk and goth tastes alike."
