The rating of this movie has almost everything to do with the visuals, they are amazing. You feel like you are in space (as much as you can without actually being there of course)There is a simple plot to this movie, its basically a vehicle for the visuals. It does do a great job of sustaining the tension. About 10 minutes in it grabs you by the stomach and only slightly lets up the rest of the way. But I couldn't help but feel it would have been much better if I actually cared about the characters involved. You are given no time to get to know them and after the action starts, you have no time to get to know them. Its strictly a survival movie at this point. It is quite the white knuckle ride but it could have been so much more.
