************************Technical Stuff
The Audio Archiving Company have done a decent job on this 2009 remaster. The sound is excellent and very dynamic except on the first two tracks. Those have some loudness war issues (mastering induced distortion, and clipping), but do not sound bad, just not great. Overall, they've done an admiralble job given the horrid state of rock/pop mastering today. (google 'loudness war' for more info).

The concert was recorded quite well, and the mixing is very good.

************************The Music
This is one of there top 4 live albums, and I consider it to be "The Space Ritual" of the 1990s. The song selection is great and the playing is fantastic and intuitive with some good jamming. It was recorded on the Alien 4 tour, and it was a conceptual concert kind of like "Chronicles" from the 80's. The stage show was apparently excellent and there is a dvd on Amazon. Hawkwind - Love in Space I cannot comment on the DVD's quality as I have not seen it, but you may want to consider getting that instead of this set if you want to see the concert as well as hear it.

The one wild card in the concert is Ron Tree. Whether you like this concert or not will depend heavily on your opinion of Ron's vocals. Some people hate the way he sings, personally I really like it.

The 2009 reissue includes some bonus tracks from the "Love in Space" EP. I didn't find they added much to the album and do we really need another version of "Sonic Attack"?

This is one of the essential Hawkwind live albums in my opinion. The 2009 issue is very good in terms of sound quality. As I mentioned before, you might want to consider getting the DVD version instead though[see link above]."
