Movie Reviews

Interesting but I have problems

"I have watched the VHS versions of these programs, but have yet to see the DVD transfers, and will comment on the content. The first two programs, The Cydonia Briefing and the U.N. briefing are essentially the same exact lecture. The U.N. briefing is better presented and impressive because Richard Hoagland is addressing this world body.

As for the monuments on the moon lecture, I have serious doubts. I can't see any of the structures he claims are in the photos, especially the "Crystal Palace". After watching that video twice I am absolutely convinced Hoagland is off his rocker. It's too bad. Someone with a background that impressive, who knew Carl Sagan and Arthur C. Clarke, should come across as more believable. The saddest part was when he's showing off a photo that he bought which supposedly isn't officially sold by NASA. He sits there and makes a huge deal about paying for it out of his own pocket with his money. This was more important than the actual content of the photograph, which only cost Hoagland about $20. GIVE ME A BREAK!!!

As for the other reviewer who gave the DVDs 1 star due to their inferior quality all I can say is, I'm not surprised. Unfortunately small companies like UFOTV don't take the time and effort into finding a company that will do justice to thier DVD transfers. They should. There is a market for these videos. I have yet to watch the DVDs and probably will not buy them because of the previous viewer's remarks. IF YOU ARE GOING TO RELEASE ANY DVD, INVEST THE MONEY TO DO IT RIGHT. A little quality control goes an awful long way."

"I've enjoyed many UFOTV videos through the years. I might not always agree with the content, but it is fascinating to hear some of the theories. I previously owned HOAGLAND'S MARS on VHS and those tapes look better than these DVDs! I suspect that the master tapes no longer exist. These transfers are obviously taken from VHS tapes, replete with dropouts. The image is VERY soft...which is sort of ironic, given that Hoagland uses extensive graphics in these talks.

I think UFOTV needs to reconsider their pricing scheme. I actually feel very offended and ripped off that they are charging over $70 for material of this quality. I've seen many of their other DVDs (of more recent source material) that look quite good.

If you can find this for $20 or under, that's great. Otherwise, this poor quality is not worth it. I am sorry to say this, really I am."
