"This is a great package. It may be priced higher than the previous 2-disc version (which I do not have - so basing my review on the specs posted) but well worth the price differential.
It includes a third disc which includes photo slideshow of pictures from the Holy Land accompanied with either narration by Mr. Johnston, traditional, or contemporary hymns.
It also includes a 'Heroes of the Bible' section which preselect eight bible heroes (Abraham, Joseph - son of Jacob, Moses, David, Ruth, Esther, and Daniel) then tells their stories accompanied by static images and text.
But best of all, it includes a gigabyte of audio files in high quality mp3 (128kbps) of the New Testament. That alone is worth the price difference. So you can listen to the KJV-New Testament on your ipod or any other mp3 player while on the go.
On the first and second DVDs, you get the an on-screen Bible with clear text as Stephen Johnston read them aloud. There are also other voices as this is a 'dramatized' version so you get different voices for the different characters. They are all clear and perfectly intoned... Mr. Johnston himself 'plays' the Jesus part, I would have like another voice to distinguish the narration from Jesus' word, but I guess the Mr. Johnston would like to play the main character himself. He did it justice anyway, so and it doesn't affect my rating of this product."
Not really what I expected

"I'm giving this a three star solely because it's the word of God and I don't want him to strike me dead. Here is why:
1) I was following along in my KJV and twice I noticed the speaker misread the bible, i.e. he missed a word. It was plain to see because I could hear the scripture and read the scripture on the screen.
2) It would have been better for the voice of Jesus to have had a different, distinct voice actor in order to separate Jesus' words from the rest.
3) In honesty, especially in Revelations I expected sound effects, dramatic music, and maybe even some feeling in the voice's, but it wasn't there. I used to own the KJV on tape cassette and I don't remember the company's name but it had all the above I was speaking of.
4) Call me a fundamentalist or just call me crazy but there was a random picture of Mary (Jesus' mother) being crowned "Queen of Heaven." I'm not Catholic and I don't believe in that kind of thing so why would they put something that protestants have opposed for so long?"
Great for occupying my idle time.

"This is an excellent set and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys multimedia presentations. The size of the print is large enough to read comfortably on my 21 inch TV. I can only imagine that it would look even better on larger plasma, LCD or even projector screens. I like going through this DVD during my idle time. I even listen to it using my wireless headphones while doing chores all around the house. I especially like the vocal characterizations and proper name pronunciations. It helps me to properly pronounce the names as I read the bible on my own."

"Sometimes the narration is too fast and the effectiveness is lost. It also does not work on all dvd players. It is useful but I am not using it as much as I anticipated."
