Dummied up for the Masses! YECH!!!

"This is a wonderful concept, BUT, I would rather have a Karaoke DVD that wasn't dummied up,(tempo adjusted), for mediocre performers! I love these arias, but the people who put this together evidently sped up the tempo on the slow pieces,(which SHOULD require a good reserve of breath and lung capacity),and slowed down the fast pieces,(which SHOULD require rapid elucidation and vocal mouth-action),to appease the great number of people who they feel wouldn't buy this DVD if it were as challenging as the music demands, as written. For example, singing, or rather trying to sing 'Una Furtiva Lagrima' at this tempo is like being at a dog track and giving a stride-by-stride account of the action! IT"S HORRIBLE!!!! Slow it down to the tempo Donizetti penned!Conversely, with the,(supposed to be), quick tempo of 'Largo al Factotum' slowed down so much that one can yawn TWICE between notes, I mean COME ON!!! Rossini is rolling in his grave! Maybe he can call the Lone Ranger and Heigh Ho Silver!
If you want to PRETEND you can sing these songs and stick your chest out in front of your friends, then go ahead, PRETEND! But if you have any respect for yourself,(and/or Opera come to that), wait for a DVD that is faithful to the tempo as written and if you can't hack it, Face The Truth and play Pictionary instead! Signed: an extremely disappointed Opera singer and lover. p.s. I give 2 stars instead of only one simply because everything else about this DVD was fine. It's just that the one flaw is major and spoils the whole disc for me."
