An Entertaining Series Of A Mix Of Both Action And Magic
Rich | CA | 02/04/2009
(4 out of 5 stars)

"I saw a few episodes on Cartoon Network and it got me interested enough to try and get the first box set and I am somewhat surprised at how entertaining the series is. The main character Zed who feels he can't really fit in the modern world feels the need to get away and fin his sense of purpose in his life, but since his mother is ill he feels he really can't leave yet. Than after a major occurrence he's transported to a mystical world where he feels more in tuned with, also we have Noah who has a serious illness and has to wear a special body suit to sustain himself and is Zed's only real friend who also finds himself transported to this mystical world. Here in this world people battle using mystical spiritual beings called Spirits similar a little to Pokeman in the way these "Spirits" fight, but unlike Pokeman the spirits help their keeper in battle to win the spirits are actually used only when their keeper feels they need their help in winning a fight or if their in a special tournament where you're supposed to use your Spirits exclusively. The video is clear and sharp and the voice cast for both the subbed and dubbed did great for their character roles, if I have one complaint it's the dvd case they used for the sets. The case has a two inch spindle in the middle where you stack all four dvds on top of one another, I have some spare cases and just decided to put the dvds in there since they won't get scratched up like they would with the case you get with this box set. Still if you're looking for an entertaining magical battle filled anime this is a good choice for you to check out..."
