CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS ONE!!!

"FINALLY!!! Duranies will be so thrilled for this one (I have hoped & dreamed for this one for over 25 years)!!! This is a wonderful concert featuring "The Fab Five" in all there "RIO" era best!!! If you never got a chance to see it-BUY THIS!! True Duranies will be in Heaven!!! I think everyone's favorite part is their cover version of "Make Me Smile (Come Up and See Me)" originally done by Cockney Rebel. This is a fantastic performance & I can't wait until Septemeber to get my hands on this one!!! ROCK ON DURANIES!!!

Great Show, Disappointing Video Quality

"This DVD is a must for any true Duran Duran fan. BUT ... it is obviously an un-remastered copy of a VHS video recording. You can see those white VHS tracking lines running through the image pretty regularly. Still, the band puts on a great show. And it is a blast to see them in their prime. So I give this a thumbs up. It's just too bad the folks at EMI didn't remaster the video for DVD. I mean, it's not like this is a budget line release."
So much fun

"Someone is going to mention the lighting or the audio. Those aspects are not perfect. Duran Duran magic will have you hookedstarting at the third song Night Boat and you never even think about lighting or sound. Just the joy of being young and watching this amazing talent, this amazing band reminding you why the 80's was so much fun!"
One of the best and earliest performances of a legendary ban

"A man once said "To hear Duran Duran in concert is synonymous with heaven,". Actually, that was me who said that. Seriously though, this performance is amazing for so many reasons. At this time they only had two albums under their belt and practically every song they wrote and released was flawless. Secondly the guitar work of Andy Taylor is remarkable. Andy knows how to take his usual stuff and amplify it in such a way that it's even more pleasing. It's very rare you find anybody who is capable of taking a motif from their song and amping it up to sound even more kick-ass. Thirdly, there's also some experimentation going on during the concert. They even add in their cover of the song Come up and see me, which is absolutely wonderful. Andy's guitar work again rocks yet it's also so beautiful. It's not just Andy but everyone else too who gives a very powerful, youthful energetic performance. You can feel the energy coming from the crowd in this recording and Duran Duran reciprocates tenfold. Some of the songs sound even better than their studio recordings, like Nightboat, New Religion, Friends of Mine and Planet Earth. I love the guitar work that Andy adds during the chorus of the song. It lends the song a very dark and mysterious tone. The horns on songs like Rio, Planet Earth and Girls on Film are by Andy Hamilton, who has since toured with Duran Duran in the past few years as well. The album recording is excellent. This version is perfect, sounds much cleaner and all the more subtle stuff you never would have heard on an analogue recording sounds a lot better in this digital rendering of this legendary concert. For five young guys from England who were barely appreciated at this point in time they sound way too talented for their age. This live recording is the definitive version of their work just as they were starting to hit it big in the USA."
