Member Movie Reviews Kayote B. (kayote) Reviewed on 1/19/2014... Count me on the detractors here. Larry is irritating, unable to do anything without his butler, and not a character I want my kid emulating. The moral is heavy handedly delivered (and undercut at the same time!) and the hero doesn't learn it even if he spouts it (he never explicitly gives up on his hula doll obsession--a needed bit of wrap up that gets skipped). I suppose I should be glad the villain is female as there is a notable lack anywhere else. The bonus short is simply dumb, and not even that funny. OMG! A boy ends up in PINK! OMG! Given his plungers, the fish should have been back with a lot less fuss--less of a fun cartoon, but just reinforces LarryBoy being unable to think anything through. 1 of 1 member(s) found this review helpful.
Movie ReviewsIt's a hit at our house 12/05/2002 (5 out of 5 stars) "Of the 3 LarryBoy cartoons released so far, "The Yodel Napper" is the most fun so far. My daughter and son love the Hula Friends dolls and the silly dialogue. My husband and I love the moral of the story and, well, OK, we admit it -- we've watched it without the kids! Fun, entertaining, and with good values. The traditional cartoon look is much better than Sponge Bob or Power Puff Girls. Hopefully Big Idea can bring LarryBoy to television. This cartoon is a big hit at my house! We're looking forward to the next volume in the series." Great Message, Great Cartoon 11/28/2002 (5 out of 5 stars) "Values-based moral, with nonstop laughs! Well written and superbly animated. My son has watched the new LarryBoy at least 5 times since we brought it home yesterday. Terrific entertainment and a wonderful and meaningful message delivered without being "preachy". A real treat, overall."
