Latin Kids Songs
LatinoDirect | Hollis, NY United States | 07/04/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"The VHS consists of 22 of the most recognized Latino Kids songs music videos animation such as Arroz Con Leche (Rice and Milk), La Cucaracha, Los Pollitos (Small Little Chicks) and many more. These well-known Latino Kids songs are sung in Spanish and in English. The music is fun and very contemporary. It has been well received by kids as well as adults. Victor Santiago, a known R&B and Pop Musician did the music and arrangements. Carlos "AfterDark" Berrios, a pioneer in the dance music remix genre, worked on the mixing. Sandra Rodriquez who has worked with the Hammerstein foundation for children sang the Spanish version. Cynthia Farell an animated vocalist sung the English version. This bilingual project, a unique VHS and DVD, is the first in a series of projects to enrich all children through beautiful Latin songs made hip and created especially for kids."
My daughter's favorite

"I have bought this WHS a year ago in order to help our studies in English and Spanish (we are not native speakers). Now my daugther is 3 years old and she call this video as her "favorite".
I felt a little dissatisfaction, when I first saw how simple the graphic is. I learnt from my daughter's behavior that she easily follows it, she can dance with the characters and she enjoys it very much. The 11 songs are first in Spanish, than in English and they are understandable.
When my 6 years old son-in-low visits us, however he does not watches the TV, he can sing the songs along."
Disappointing

"I ordered this dvd to expose my children to traditional Hispanic music. I was a bit disappointed at the animation used throughout. For each song the action tended to repeat itself every 15 seconds - a bit boring. Then, the English version was an exact replica of the Spanish. The end result is a video that is not very engaging to its main target - toddlers and young children!"
