""Led Zeppelin: A Classical Tribute" offers a rewarding experience for the orchestrally appreciative Zep fan. Led Zeppelin's music is arranged here for a string quartet plus the addition of a piano and the occasional acoustic guitar. The hour long disc plays the best of the Led Zeppelin songbook. Unlike the group's Pink Floyd tribute, this doesn't feature medleys but complete songs. The arrangements are exquisite. Highlights include "Going to California." Such projects often render the original songs unrecognizable or the versions are note for note. While paying homage to the original band, "A Classical Tribute" manages to keep the music fresh to those who've listened to these songs a thousand times. While the music is excellent, the video is mediocre. Even the four lovely ladies in the string quartet can't hide the pixilation. The graphics are usually well done, although low budget. "A Classical Tribute" is best appreciated as a strong audio experience with some visuals. The audio is excellent in terms of both the quality of the performance and the surround sound separation. "Led Zeppelin: A Classical Tribute" is a rewarding DVD for those Zep fans who also appreciate the string quartet environment."
