Mark Hummel's Harmonica Party
J. Avila | Tucson, Az | 03/27/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"There are many good things about this DVD. Mark is joined
in playing by other people who are as music loving as he is. With
patience and of course practice, you can enjoy the music and instruction
on this video. I have played harmonica myself off and on since 1982. I
recently started up again a few years ago to be stuck in a rut. I was exposed in my eariler days to all the flat out blasting etc of the 2nd position. I had always thought and heard from others that 1st position is limited. Not here on this video. Any instructional video could go on and
on for hours on any subject and leave information out, and leave you confused. Believe me I have other videos on other subjects and they are all lacking.
A harmonica players key tune is "Juke" done is 2nd position. Mark writes it out and shows how to do it in 1st, 2nd , and 3rd position. He demos
it and it sounds good. He shows some easy but great stuff on the Chomatic as well. And explains everything that anyone can understand. He shows some
wild techniques with the michrophone as well. For what I paid for this video, I can play it over and over, cheaper than any over priced lessons
where the instucter sits and tells you how great he is and you get nothing for your money. It doesn't matter what your style is or who you
are inspired by. A video like this will help very much."
