This is my favorite anime of all time, bar none.

It is complete in itself but there is a second OVA also (much more open-ended than the first as it basically ends on a cliffhanger). There is also a "sortaquel" TV-series later released by Kyoto Animation, which is the OVAs redone with some scenes added AND ALSO DELETED plus 2 1/2 "new" episodes, but the story/characters/animation style of the add-on episodes are so jarringly different from the original two OVAs that I really can't accept "Munto TV" as canon.

But back to "Munto", the first OVA. It is a quiet story that slowly builds tension until it reaches a climax. If you are looking for lots of fluff or out-and-out romance or nonstop action, you won't find it here.

If you want a story with many layers of meaning and lots of underlying emotion, full of charm that consists partly in the fact that it doesn't explain everything fully, try this. You may fall in love with it as I did.

Overall A Wonderful Movie

"This movie was very good. I would recommend it to any anime fan. The artist could have added more to it, such as having th girl actually visit the world and such but it was still a great movie. It's about a girl who is able to see another world that floats above ours, but when that world is in perral they need her help. It's all about how she has to believe in herself and others, so she can save this world."
Awesome movie!

"I think that Munto OVA is underrated! Is not a bad anime as many ppl say, the little problem is that it's only 50 minutes for a fantasy history being explained. Without this I find it excellent, the drawings, backgrounds and simplicity and beauty of the characters! Is an interesting movie and it has his own original and cool history!

I's a movie of friendship, confidence and strength! Besides this is the first episode of this OVA, there is coming the second one in 4th April of this year!"
