"Mr Yentob was absolutly fabulous with the care he took to interview these incredible patients who had a life of sure emotional disaster, had it not been for music and the angelically diligent people who stuck it out with them through music and brought a miraculous meaning into their other wise doomed lives. Very moving, keep you box of tissues next to you all the time. Bravo, Dr. Oliver Sacks, for your brilliant contribution to my knowledge and to the medical world.

NOVA: Musical Minds DVD (2009)

"This 56 minute presentation circles back upon the vitality and healing force of music in our lives and in the lives of 4 individuals with mental/emotional disabilities. There is clarity of thought, force of application, and determined zeal to overcome extremely difficult problems through music therapy. The ancient Greeks believed in the healing power of music and in the ethical force certain kinds of music can have on humankind. This presentation underscores all that...and more! Highly recommended for music appreciation, music history, and psychology of music courses."
Entertaining to all levels of adults

"This is now an official part of a doctoral level class I teach. However, this is easy watching, interesting--is perfect for about anyone.

My students generated lots of questions from this, which was the reason I have them watch it. But my 12 year old also enjoyed it (not equal with The Matrix, but he liked it).

It's a must have for any teacher, in my opinion."
