Movie Reviews

Not more....just worse

(2 out of 5 stars)

"For anyone who hasn't seen the first Lost Reality I'll clue you in...Lost Reality is a collection of short skits designed to look like rejected reality TV shows. They all come off as being realistic and almost believable. I would compare them to Jackass or Punked. They all have the same jaw-dropping, "I can't believe they did this", humor; very edgy and crude.

Now the second title in the series just tries too hard to recreate the humor of the first one. Between skits the writers add commentary and pointless banter from themselves. I found nothing in the commentary funny and it was pretty stupid. Some skits are funny and downright hilarious (i.e. I can't believe they did that!) and others just come off as boring. I'd say they were 50/50. The commentary just ruined the DVD.

Overall, I would probably save my money and rent this once and let it be."
Not as good as Part 1

""Lost Reality 2" is OK. I did not find it near as funny as the first one. If you haven't seen the first one, this reviewer strongly suggests doing so before purchasing Part 2. Part 2 has more of the same schtick; with Ari Shaffer as the Amazing Racist making a nice return. The main problem with "Lost Reality 2" are the lame segments in between shows that are just "filler". These segments prove to really be a waste of time and slow the pace of the DVD down quite considerably.

Some of the segments in Part 2 include:

1. "The Amazing Racist" picking up Mexicans in the back of truck for work, then dropping them off at the immigration office. ;-)

2. A "big brother" type show filled with swingers

3. "Scare me": Where guys run up on unsuspecting strangers and scare them by yelling loudly or moving in front of them suddenly

4.The Amazing Racist picking on Orientals by insulting them in a restaurant.

There are many more skits, 14 in all. Although not as well produced as the skits in the original Lost Reality, if you are a fan of that DVD, you may want to consider checking out the 2nd addition. Just don't expect to be as pleasantly surprised as the first time around... ....
