A Great Beginning for a New and Improved Nightwish!!
J.Cassisa | New Orleans, LA | 05/23/2008
(4 out of 5 stars)

"I will have to say that I really love this video. The song is great, not the best on the album, but great none-the-less. I've been a Nightwish fan for a long time, but never could get into Tarja. I don't want to get into a Tarja vs Annette fight here, that's not the point. Tarja is pretty, has a great voice, but too opretic for me. Annette on the other hand is also very pretty, and her voice is a way better fit and sound for Rock n Roll and Metal, and Nightwish IS a Metal band. The video is pretty good, and you really can't go wrong buying any Nightwish product (they definitely make sure the quality is always there), but I'm sure some really great stuff will be coming out fairly soon. So buy it up, and get your first taste of the new and improved Nightwish."
Long awaited release of flatulence

"Went to the concert in Dallas, bought the CD..... While the composition of Tuomas is really unmatched by Goth, or epic metal bands (Except perhaps Leaves' Eyes!!!) the new nasal pop sound, is along the lines of Tiffany (the 80s wave...) on amphetamines. Seriously now, this band may recruit a new "teeny-bop" following, with all the resounding lyrics of pouting against Tarja, but is in no stretch of the imagination going to mature into the substance Nightwish adults remember.

Most Sincerely,
Ivanhoe"

"This album shows what artists with creative integrity can accomplish by having the courage to replace a singer who was trying to co-opt the band. Nothing is diminished and the sound has expanded with Marco's vocals. The energy has increased. Saw them live in February and it was one of the best live shows I have ever seen. Clearly some of the old songs suffer in comparison with the different vocal style of the new singer, but they lose none of their power. She is wonderful and has a completely different range."
