Finally A Great Compilation Of An Entertaining Series Comes
Rich | CA | 10/27/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I actually had only gotten the OVA dvd for this funny and entertaining series when I saw this box set and I knew I had to buy this one as soon as possible. The box set itself is the compilation of the nuku nuku series you get the OVA dvd, the t.v. series, and the dash episode series all together in this set. The series itself makes light of the standard mecha battles so don't expect anything hardcore like the Gundam series or Escaflowne. The series follows mostly of course on the character of Nuku an android with the brain of a house cat which was done by an over zealous and somewhat kooky scientist. The story itself somewhat differs between the ova, t.v., and nash series but not to much to really annoy people. The only more serious parts of this series box set would probably be the Nuku Dash episodes but again nothing as dramatic as the Gundam series. I loved the voice actors both for the English dubbed and Japanese Subbed. I especially enjoyed Megumi HAYASHIBARA as the voice of Nuku whom I'm sure fans know was also the voice for the Female Ranma of the Ranma 1/2 series and the voice for Lina Inverse of the series Slayers. The video for all the episodes is full screen and is clear and sharp no complaints. So if you're looking for a light-hearted mecha anime with hijinx and humor this series might interest your curiosity...."
