GREAT concert and DVD - absolutely TERRIBLY overpriced!

"This is an out-of-print DVD (and has been since 2005), of a concert that Alessandro Safina performed in Italy. Mr. Safina became familiar to American audiences due to this very same DVD, which was broadcast on most PBS stations nationwide. He has always had devoted fans (deservedly so), and his recent duets with Sarah Brightman from her "Symphony - Live In Vienna" special (also on PBS), should bring him many, many more fans. His voice is richer than Andrea Bocelli's - while Mr. Bocelli's voice is akin to a "classical" tenor such as Luciano Pavarotti, Mr. Safina's voice is more like Placido Domingo, somewhat "darker" and richer, but both are absolutely superb.

Now, just because this happens to be out-of-print IN NO WAY JUSTIFIES charging QUADRUPLE the regular price of this DVD. Because an item is out-of-print and a seller can charge whatever they like, does not mean that they SHOULD. With a little patience, I'm sure you (and I), will find this on Amazon or a similar site for a much more reasonable price closer to retail (NOT $299.00 or some other ridiculously expensive price), and one that does not attempt to take advantage of consumers in such a remarkably blatant and disgraceful way.

Perhaps because of the demand, Mr. Safina will see fit to re-release this excellent DVD, and I will gladly purchase it at its REGULAR price. I strongly suggest you send a loud and clear message to this seller by doing the same.

UPDATE 3/5/09: I notice a seller with excellent feedback from South Korea is selling this DVD for $24.99. I've already placed my order!"
