"Some friends lent me this DVD; I like it enough to search for it here. Too bad it's not available.
There are a few songs from the late Zeca Pagodinho, who looks pretty wasted and between songs bolts for a shot of whiskey and some drags from a cigarette. His energy and singing aren't overwhelming, but his band is good.
There are a few songs from Alcione. They are more the sultry torchy ballad type than the rousing samba type.
There are a few songs from Jorge Aragao, which are fabulous. His band kicks. For one medley he shares the spotlight with Beth Carvalho, who made such a huge hit out of his _Coisinha do Pai_ in the 1970s that Carl Sagan and others chose to include the recording in the collection of human works that went into space aboard one of the NASA exploratory craft.
There are a few songs from Fundo de Quintal, which are also fantastic. They too share the stage with Beth for a number.
Brazilian music is great, and this is a nice sampler for Americans. The sound and video quality are good. If Amazon stocked this, I'd be ordering it right now."
