"I was so amazed to find My Pal Trigger! My Father-in-Law is a HUGE Roy Rogers Fan and has alomost ALL of the movies he made. However, he could never find this one. We looked and looked and looked and finally found it on Amazon. We bought it for him as a Christmas present and needless to say he had tears in his eyes! Thanks Amazon for allowing us to bring joy to one someone we love so dearly."

"Republic Pictures presents "MY PAL TRIGGER" (10 July 1946) (79 mins/B&W) (Fully Restored/Dolby Digitally Remastered) --- Roy Rogers (born Leonard Slye) moved to California in 1930, at the age of 18 --- played in such musical groups as The Hollywood Hillbillies, Rocky Mountaineers, Texas Outlaws and his own group, the International Cowboys --- In 1934 he formed a group with Bob Nolan and Tim Spencer called "Sons of the Pioneers" --- While in that group he was known as Leonard Slye, then Dick Weston and finally Roy Rogers --- Their songs included "Cool Water" and "Tumbling Tumbleweeds" --- They first appeared in the western "Rhythm on the Range" (1936), starring Bing Crosby --- In 1937 Roy went solo and made his first starring film in 1938, "Under Western Stars" (1938) --- He made almost 100 films --- then came television, "The Roy Rogers Show" (1951) ran on CBS from October 1951 through September 1964.

Roy bought him soon after and the rest is Western film history --- some wonderful tunes, ALL THE COWHANDS WANT TO MARRY HARRIET -- OL' FAITHFUL -- EL RANCHO GRANDE -- TURKEY IN THE STRAW (SQUARE DANCE) -- LITTLE JOE THE WRANGLER -- LONG LONG AGO.

"This is by far the best Roy Rogers film ever made and Roy's own personal favorite. It covers the period of about three years and tells the story of how Trigger came to be. Heartfelt and emotional, not a standard shoot 'em up, but a simple, poetic story of a man and his horse. The acting is outstanding all 'round with an especially good performance by "Gabby" Hayes as a man consumed with hatred of Roy because he thinks Roy is responsible for the death of his great horse, The Golden Sovereign. Jack Holt and Roy Barcroft are the bad guys and Dale Evans and the Sons of the Pioneers round out an exceptional cast. A fine film, an A+ B Western...And the ALPHA dvd is of highest quality, a remarkable transfer, crisp and clean image. Most highly recommended!"
