Where Are The Hit Songs?

"I enjoy Patti Page's singing, and her voice is great on this DVD. However, I was disappointed a few of her hit songs were limited to a medley of about 10 minutes. If you are looking for The Tennessee Waltz you'll have to look elsewhere. There is a nice medley with Lee Liberace, and the DVD is in glorious black and white, but I was disappointed the songs associated with Patti Page was so limited. It was not what I expected, and I was disappointed."

"In any language this is a marvelous find!!!!
Finally some live footage of Patti's performances from the 50s and 60s. Most of these selections were a regular part of Patti's club performances. BORN TO LOSE from Patti's 1964 Columbia LP "Love After Midnight"has the same great arrangement. UNCHAINED MELODY, WHAT NOW MY LOVE and ON A WONDERFUL DAY LIKE TODAY were never released in any form in the USA. They were part of a live album recorded during a Japanese concert tour in 1965. The LP titled PATTI PAGE LIVE IN TOKYO! is undoubtedly Patti's most collectible LP. Selection 12 has the wrong title (THE FIRST TIME WE WENT WALTZING). This selection is actually DAYS OF THE WALTZ, a late 1964 Patti Page Columbia single which immediately preceded HUSH HUSH SWEET CHARLOTTE. It has only seen US LP release on a Columbia Record Club members' premium lp titled HEADLINERS '65. WITH YOU ON MY MIND, the Liberace medley and others are from Patti's 50s TV shows. There are loads of marvelous performances from THE BIG RECORD and THE PATTI PAGE OLDSMOBILE SHOW just waiting to be digitally remastered for DVD release.

This DVD is a great start! (for those looking for some of Patti's early 50s hits, check out THE PATTI PAGE VIDEO SONGBOOK)."

"Wow, no wonder Patti Page was so popular for so many decades! This is an excellent collection of performances from her television show. Sadly, there are no program notes, so it is difficult to pinpoint what year these originate from. I'm guessing early 60's, since "What Now My Love" wasn't composed until then. A few clips are probably from '58 or '59. She was such an enchanting performer! And it's nice to see this isn't just a dull parade of her hits. She sings quite a few hits not necessarily associated with her. The sound and video quality is ok...some additional remastering would have resulted in a 5 star review. But for Patti fans, this is an absolute must!"
