"This is a horrible DVD! I never write reviews but I felt I had to on this one. This video is extremely short in lenght and teaches you basically nothing. It very quickly goes over grip and how to drum (in about 2 mins) and then goes on to some grooves. This is the really bad part. The narrator divides up the drums and pedals to different limbs (ie: right hand - high hat). He then goes on to tell you how the groove or fill is played by telling you which limb to use and not what drum to hit. So instead of him saying "8th notes on the high hat and 2 and 4 on the base", he says "Right hand, right hand, right foot, right hand, right hand etc" Then he proceeds to tell you how it sounds by saying things like "Boom, chick, boom, boom, pow". He then plays it on the drums 4 times slow, and then 4 times fast which is really annoying. Not to mention he doesn't even play the fast parts, its actually the slow parts in fast motion. Then he tells you how to do things like drum roll, but he doesn't actually teach you he just plays it himself and then on to the next section. Before you know it, the DVD is over and you've learned nothing except what an idiot you are for paying money to see this. If you want to learn how to drum, I highly suggest you buy "Getting Started on Drums Featuring Tommy Igoe DVD - Setting Up / Start Playing""
