Rage of the Masters is a Jimmy Wang Yu vehicle that packs a punch. The driving force with this one is a unique showdown between Kung-Fu and Muy Thai. A gang of Muy Thai wielding thugs makes a move on the local Kung-Fu school and lays waste to the poor students who have no idea of how to defend against this style. The master's son and daughter seek aid and shelter from a widow and her son (Jimmy Wang Yu). Whilst Jimmy is a Kung-Fu master, he seeks not to battle. But when the thugs attack his friends and kill his mother...it's on! If you're fan of strange martial arts duels, it doesn't get much stranger than this. And it's got a plot, which a lot of martial arts films lack. Jimmy Wang Yu, while maybe not as well known as Jackie Chan or Jet Li, is a great martial arts actor and this film is no exception to his usual good quality.
