Stunning! Contemporary Ballet at its finest by the world's
John H. Turner | indianapolis, indiana | 03/14/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I've been a partisan of this ballet for 20 years and counting. Finally, it's on dvd! I'm not sure of the English translation to the heart skips a beat rather than pauses between heartbeats. What I am sure of is that this is a ballet for adults! It is the culmination of Roland Petit's choreographic career and contains performances of genius. The ballet is derived from Proust's Remembrances of Times Past. It's not necessary to have waded through the novel, but reading the summary will help.

That's the good part of my review. Why the ballet appears to have been intentionally photographed in living black and black, escapes me. It makes viewing some of the dancing impossible at worst and difficult at best. I would have appreciated a list of who danced what bit, rather than being left to guess. I am ashamed to admit I no longer know them all to make that unnecessary.

Bottom Line: Buy and savor this, it's a 20th Century classic."
Stephane Bullion fans will like this one

"Okay, I'm a Stephane Bullion fan. That's why I bought this. If you're a fan of his, you'll like this one. His backside is very nice, if you know what I mean. There is some homosexuality and nudity in this, so I wouldn't reccomend it for the whole family. With, or without Stephane, this is very good. This is in color, and I had no trouble seeing it, so I don't know what the person above me is talking about."
