"As a fan of Mr. Winchester's writing, I found this video very enjoyable. If you've read his book A Crack in the Edge of the World: America and the Great California Earthquake of 1906 (P.S.) then you should really get a look at this DVD. It gives something of a feel for Simon's research methodology and his creative process. If you're looking for a production on the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake however, while this video has some information and some amazing pictures, there's just not that much to see. So, in summary, if you've read the book or are planning to, this DVD is fantastic, if you're interested in Simon Winchesters writing and research process, it's also superb, if you're just in it for the earthquake, then give it go if you like, but know that's not the primary focus of the production."
