The Best Commercials DVD In Print
Bluesy200 | USA | 08/09/2008

"Passport Video is steadily losing its reputation for putting out junk. This DVD is not only major league, it's one of the finest commercials DVDs I've ever seen, and I've seen them all.
The DVD was engineered with the end-user in mind: There are chapters listing the titles of each commercial, and your remote control's "skip" button actually works, skipping to the next ad instead of the next chapter!
Some of the ads are the same ones you can download for free off the web, but most of them are not: they are in superb condition. Audio on 99% of them is pristine, with balanced/normalized levels.
And Passport FINALLY stopped using watermarks in the bottom right corner. Kudos!
Contrary to what others have said, most of these are familiar, airing in the 1960s and 1970s. There is an impressive celebrity chapter, which includes several very rare commercials in great condition. I have no idea where Passport got them, but it was a shocking surprise (a good shock) to see them again.
I'm giving this DVD the highest recommendation. In my honest opinion, it is underpriced at its suggested retail price. The amount of work that went into it is extraordinary.
Strong buy recommendation."
Bang for the buck, plus high quality

"At $10, this quality DVD is well worth it. The selection of commercials is diverse and fun, and neatly divided into three sub-sections. Though I was born in the mid-Seventies, even the older commercials I don't recognize (about half of them) are still very entertaining and well-chosen. I bought a similar DVD for my brother ("70's Dimension"), which was also extremely entertaining and also has some features not on this DVD (i.e. movie shorts by artists, made with snippits of commercials), but cost about 3X as much. This DVD is where to start for your retro fix. Then go watch some Boomerang!"
Much better than advertised!

"For the price, I thought this collection would be "ok", but I was surprised!
This DVD not only has kids toys, games, snacks & cereals, but ALSO a huge section of commercials for kids AND adults called "celebrity commercials".
A nice suprise and a fun & nostalgic collection! I remember seeing some of these on tv when they were new.

"I was extremely pleased with this purchase...I have bought a couple of other commercial DVDs that did not deliver..this one did! It was divided into three catagories, and the commercials were all clean and clear to view, and brought back several "oh, yeah, I remember that!" comments. Definitely worth the money!"
