"Looking at the title of this package, I first thought I was in the wrong part of the store by mistake-ugg! But here is what is inside... "The Adventures Of Alice In Wonderland" (1972 version), "The Borrowers" (Eddie Albert TV version), "Heidi" (1968 version), and "The New Adventures Of Heidi" (TV?).
1-"Adventures Of Alice In Wonderland" (1972)-This film has its fans, and Fiona Fullerton makes a great Alice who is not afraid to mix-it-up a bit with the crazy folks of Wonderland. Amazing cast-Peter Sellers, Michael Crawford, Dudley Moore, etc. The print is a step up from others that are available on DVD, and sound is fine. John "Dances With Wolves" Barry's score is especially good.
2-"Heidi" (1968)-The real bait here, and well worth the price of the package alone. Most available copies have a bleached-out look-horrible. But the producers found a pristine source-full of color and very sharp. It looks the same as it did when I watched it on television as a child. And a certain John Williams conducts the score...
3-4 "The New Adventures Of Heidi" and "The Borrowers". "New Adventures" is as bad as it sounds, and even fans of the film will find the picture quality unwatchable. Ditto with "The Borrowers"-colors are fading to purple here, and the print is blurred and spliced.
So...I gave this 4 stars for "Heidi"-you'll enjoy it, especially at the price. Disk #2...if you're short of coasters..."
